Pack 262 held it's yearly ritual, the Pinewood Derby, Friday night, January 25, at the Webster Presbyterian Church. 52 racers and their families packed the church for two hours of fun packed excitement. Each scout was given a block of wood, 4 wheels, 4 nails for axels and some numbered stickers. They then used their imagination to create some of the most spectacular works of art ever seen. Some had more help than others, but all put their heart and soul into the project. Cub Master Tom Suhr said "Every year the Cub Scouts get more and more inventive.
All of those boys did an awesome job and put on a great show."
Each car raced down the 32 foot track four times, once in each lane. The crowd cheered as each car sped down the track. The overall winners were determined by the total time for their four races. The top five racers received trophies and will represent Pack 262 at the 25th annual Webster Challenge in April at Community Arts Day. A little over a tenth of a second separated the top five finishers. The scouts voted for the top 3 cars in best design. A pinewood derby committee voted for the top 3 scout spirit category. Scout Spirit was given to the car builders who did most of the building themselves and reflected the spirit of scouting. Best Design and Scout Sprit winners also received trophies.
All racers received a medal for their participation.

______________________________ If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them...
